Deepening Mindfulness: An MBSR Retreat

All of us have an innate capacity to experience well-being, strength, and confidence, even in the face of stress, pain, or illness. In order to enhance that capacity, we introduce the power of mindfulness, the practice of meeting each moment with an open heart and mind. This Mindfulness Meditation Retreat is an intensive, residential, teacher-led, silent meditation retreat, which emphasizes the deep understanding and practice of mindfulness meditation in its most universal and secular expression. It is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) principles developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness in the University of Massachusetts Medical School, which is co-sponsoring the program.

Beginner’s Mind Memorial Weekend Retreat

With Sensei Koshin Paley Ellison, co-founder of New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, we will explore how to cultivate, expand and nurture the “beginner’s mind”.
Through seated and walking meditation practice, dharma talks, experiential learning and deep reflection in community, participants will examine the practices of “Bearing Witness”, “Not Knowing” and “Loving Action.”
We then can learn to create a path of greater freedom and joy in our meditation practice.
Through the act of returning again and again to the breath, practitioners will discover the potential for greater creativity and radical compassion in their care for the world.


“Meditation for The Curious”

For those new to meditation as well as experienced practitioners, this retreat will explain the essence of meditation practice and its place in our search for peace of mind and truth in daily life. The method of meditation will be taught in a structured way, beginning with proper posture and breathing. Also included will be instructions to help overcome various obstacles, especially for beginning practitioners.

Nature and Nurture: Yoga and Singing Bowls Retreat

Learn how to play singing bowls and how to create your own yoga practice at home.
